Living and working in the countryside in Vienna's Donaustadt district
A new, climate-friendly district is being built in Vienna's Donaustadt, which will provide space for 3,800 apartments in the future. Car-free zones, two large parking garages and the creation of attractive and lively ground floor zones round off the project.
The Obere Hausfeld is nestled between two subway stations. Collective parking in elevated and underground garages relieves the quarter of car traffic and gives priority to pedestrians and cyclists. Nursery Schools, schools and supermarkets are in the immediate vicinity.
Over the next few years, the Oberes Hausfeld district is set to develop into a colorful quarter with apartments, parks and businesses. The spatial planning focuses on a mix of commercial and residential use with lively ground floor zones, an optimal mobility concept with priority for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport, as well as the interplay with newly created green spaces.
